We started the new year with a short trip to NYC and found HOPE. bob spent all spring trying to empty his office, in the end forcing himself to toss so many terrific books into the recycle bin. Then we realized Ani's dream to participate in Venice's Carnevale the first week of March. One month later we departed for 3 days in London, then by train to 12 days in Paris, sunshine every day! We still have not seen the inside of the Louve Museum. We returned to Rome at the end of May for 40 days, and to Venice for warmer weather, then the annual cheescake party (nutella was the flavor this year). In the fall Eataly finally opened at our formerly biggest mall in America (since overtaken?) with pretty good pizza crust for a change but an experience never even dreamed of in Italy itself, made to order pistacchio gelato to die for! [And share with 3 other friends if possible, the portion is supersized!) So creamy and authentic pistacchio taste to please Ani's unforgiving taste requirements.
Then for our wedding anniversary we returned to St Martin for the 6th time and found our Sint Maarten Guavaberry liquore company did not surive COVID. No explanation for its closure. This flavor contributed both to our guavaberry lingonberry cheesecake and tiramisu!
Finally Villanova University campus lights up for Christmas. If only JOY could be the goal of politics instead of wealth concentration at the top of our economic food chain!
